FlatStudios release their yearly statement for Yapton & District

How did we do this year and what are we planning in 2026...

2025 Reviewed

Well, another year is completed! We're now in our fifth year of Yapton & District, which, quite honestly, is mental to think about. It's been another quiet year in terms of game development due to flat's real-life commitments - unlike other games, Flat is the only full-time developer. We're continuing to be limited by Roblox - whether that's the maximum game file size or Roblox creating new issues for us to solve (how inconvenient!). We currently have 193 buses in-game, and with a total of 35 more buses expected to join the IRIVNG Coaches fleet over the next 12 months, and a few more expected to join both the South West Group and Yapton Country Bus, we're expecting to continue running into Roblox file size issues.

The stats.......

Ending the year on 2.5 million visits (an increase of approximately 1 million+ compared to last year)
1 new Olton Interchange
65+ new or updated buses added
1 new operator added..... and shut down
Brand new custom website for website to game integration
Random Events V2 started development
Map development:
- Flansham Airport, Flansham - Redevelopment of key junctions and expansions to Terminal 2 and airport facility buildings
- Yapton - Redevelopment of key areas, including Yapton Harbour and Yapton seafront between Yapton Industrial Estate and Yapton. Minor expansions are also included.
- Olton seafront and Interchange redeveloped
- Flansham redevelopment started
- Redevelopments across Ford
- East Wittering expanded and redeveloped
- New route navigation in development

What are we working on in 2026?

Map Expansions

Roblox has limited us massively for map expansions. We are currently developing the airport expansion, which includes airport facilities and a brand new second terminal at Flansham Airport. Flansham will also see an expansion along the river as part of this work.

The next major expansion will be the long-awaited Flanshm to Olton link road. We'll have more information as and when it's practical for us to start this.

New Menu UI

We last previewed new UI in 2024, we remain committed to bringing a refreshed menu ui with the majority of this work done in-house. We'll share further previews as and when we have them.

IRVING Coaches

IRVING Coaches will see the most drastic change over the next 12 months, with close to 40 vehicles projected to enter service. We'll be combining the game's vision with IRVING to ensure that we cater to every player. We have a total of nearly 20 new brands entering service, including the likes of Go South East, Yapton City, Queen Coaches, Metrobox, TM Travel, Cinchbus, Metroconnect, and many more, making Irving a minority brand. We hope players enjoy a greater variety of brands from across the country in-game.

Working with our suppliers to continually supply us with new vehicles, including Potato Bus Sales, PSV, and others, we're also projected to be the first 100% mesh-based operator on Yapton - removing dated CSG buses, prioritising high quality and (hopefully) more optimised buses as a result.

We expect to see some liveries go into our current gamepasses or new low-cost gamepasses created where required. Get saving!

Operators

With limitations of ROBLOX's game file, we are not expecting any further operators to join in 2026 - instead prioritising current operators and further map expansions.

Website

We're developing a state of the art custom website, one thats never been seen before in the Roblox bus industry allowing for webiste to game integration. Our current plans including player tracking, live timetables and more.
